Paul paints a picture of singleness as a good gift from God. It is a season of life for some who eventually get married, and for others it is a lifelong gift. Regardless, we can be content in singleness, and use this unique status as a way to serve God uniquely. It is a valuable time to grow in our identity, and our call. When it comes to transitioning from single to married, the Bible has a lot to say. At the heart of the Bibles wisdom is an incredibly simple idea: friendship. Cultural perspectives on dating and relationships usually end up leading us to pretend, wear masks and present a false idea of who we are in order to make themselves seem desirable. In this sermon, Mike outlines the wisdom of scripture on romance, explaining how the simple idea of friendship is the greatest help to find a spouse, avoid heartbreak and enjoy our future marriage (or even repair our current marriage)
