Paul is emphatic that the glory to which we now participate in is greater now in the New Covenant than it was in the Old Covenant. He illustrates this with the story of Moses, who upon receiving the Law, was physically radiating the Spirit of the Lord. The Israelites feared to look upon him and so Moses wore a veil over his face when he was with the people. To this day, as a physical veil was over Moses’ face, a spiritual veil lies in front of the nation of Israel. Those who still read this Torah to today and try to live their righteousness by works and not by faith are still blind. Paul tells us that Christ removes the veil and that we may have boldness for we no longer have to hide the Spirit that lives in us.
